How does slim Hoodia work?

The appetite suppressant effects of slim Hoodia or slim hudia were first observed in 1937 by a Dutch anthropologist studying the primitive San Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert. It was noticed that the nomadic Bushmen, (who call it Xhoba) ate the stem of the Hoodia plant to stave off hunger during long hunting trips in the sparsely vegetated area. The active ingredient in "slim Hoodia" "hudia"is the appetite-suppressing molecule, P57, which is licensed to the British pharmaceutical company Phytopharm who are researching its potential as an anti-obesity drug.

The Plateau simply means this - when you were losing weight you were actually burning more calories than you were consuming. If you have stopped losing weight then your calories are now staying the same. Why does this happen? Here are 4 reasons why

1.Decreased Metabolism
The first reason is because there is a decrease in your metabolism. This doesn’t entirely stop fat loss but it does slow the process down.

2.Calories
The second reason is that the more weight you lose the fewer calories your body needs. Your calorie intake goes hand in hand with your body weight. Many people tend to lose weight and then once they lose it continue to eat as though they were still that larger person.

3.Body Weight Loss
Now that you have lost some weight - you will start to burn fewer calories. When you were larger you burnt of alot of calories, however once you become smaller, you will burn off less. For example you are going to burn more calories running up a hill with a sack of rocks on your back than you would if you did the same exercise without the rocks.

4.Food Intake
The fourth reason is because there are times when people may cheat on their food intake, or neglect to document certain foods they have eaten. This last reason does require yourself to be brutally honest - many people make the mistake of thinking they’re consuming a certain amount of calories, but when they sit down and work it out correctly - they find they are eating several hundred more - there is no deficit to lose weight if this is happening, this is why its very important to always keep accurate records of what your consuming.

Generally speaking you tend to hit The Plateau towards the end of your weight loss journey - it’s a lot easier to lose 10 pounds in the beginning, but a lot harder to lose those last 10 pounds at the end. So how can you avoid The Plateau? Well you can do what I did

1. Completely revamped my calorie intake to what it was at the present and then reduced it again slightly. I completely documented everything I ate and drank and went from there.

2. I then completely changed the intensity of my workout program. I made changes such as increasing the run speed on the treadmill, increasing the weights I was using, and also introduced several new exercises to my routine.

3. I persevered! Let me tell you when you get towards your goal weight and you hit The Plateau it is very easy to just give in and stop what your doing. But if you make the above changes you will see your weight loss goal being met - and you will find once you break through The plateau things will get back on track fairly quickly.
